I’m pretty much thankful right now that gas credit cards were created because not only I could get to buy things that I like as soon as I see it, the rewards credit cards that this have is so amazing. I could either use it to buy another item, or like mileage points in Visa cards, I can use the rewards points to pay for the gasoline itself.

This credit card has brought me a long way now because I had this for years now. It also helped me save face when I badly needed it. There was this time when I was really in need because I got laid off from work. All I had that time were a couple of bucks, my car and my credit card. I was out of work for almost two months and at that time I was already losing all of my money and all of my credits. Then I got a very important call about a new job and they needed me to come to their office as soon as possible for a personal interview, and they said if they would like me, then I’ll sign the contract right there, the same day. The problem was, I didn’t have gas anymore and my credit card is unusable anymore. Good thing there was still the rewards points left and I was able to fill up for gas and I got the job the same day.

Credit card offers are always at large whenever the yuletide season is fast approaching. The credit card companies decide to include special promos for their cards and they even give gifts to people that would apply for their cards and sometimes, they just send the cards to prospected clients, already preapproved. With this, we can actually take advantage of this move by credit card companies if ever we want to have our own businesses to get some instant funding for some special occurrences of our own. Business credit cards are always handy when having such things because it could serve as an instant loan for the business, without the long wait. Credit news show that most businesses really take advantage of their credit cards whenever it’s the holidays because of the convenience that it can bring.

We have actually experienced this first hand when we were having some problems for our Christmas promos. We run out of stock with the free giveaways and we needed to have some immediate solution to our problem. It’s a good thing that my partner decided to get a business credit card. We got instant help to have some stocks for our promo and we were able to save our faces from a possible mishap.

Over recent months more and more people have been turning to their credit cards in order to make ends meet financially, according to many industry officials. With credit conditions having become far tighter since the onset of the global credit crunch last summer, and with soaring living costs and hiked up bills having a real impact on household finances, many people have had to rely more on their credit cards to fund essential purchases and even make bill or mortgage loan repayments in some cases according to reports.

Newly released data has shown that spending on credit cards has been rising over the past year, and this reflects the nation’s increased reliance on credit cards. The figures, which come from the payment clearance association APACS, show that in the twelve months leading up to the end of June credit card spending came to a value of around £1.8 billions. Officials from APACS confirmed that outstanding balances on credit cards were now higher.

In the second quarter of 2008 the figures showed that credit card spending ran to £92.6 billion, and officials from APACS have stated that this is an increase of 7.5% compared to the same period for last year. Between April and June there was a 7.8% year on year rise in relation to purchases made on credit cards, which amounted to around £1.8 billion. The figures suggest that many people have been turning to credit cards on a more regular basis.

Consumers that do need to rely more on their credit cards in order to tide them over when finances are stretched should shop around to try and find the best deal based on their needs, spending habits, and repayments habits.
