The Economy and Me

The current situation of the US economy is really horrendous. Many people are panicking because of this crisis. But is really the time for panic? I guess not. From the bankruptcy of the Lehman Brothers, the downfall of Meryl Lynch and the crisis on going to American Insurance Group (AIG) are really not good signs. The worst case is, it’s also affecting the world economy. What needs to be done? There are a lot of economist and advisors and even the government now is taking actions in order to save the drowning economy and even thinking of passing the bailout bill. They said that this is the biggest flank of our economy.

Bankruptcy is a negative thing, but can also be a positive thing for some other people. It’s an eye opener. This is the not the right time for blaming people but instead this is the time for unity and oneness of our nation. Maybe it’s sending us an important message. Let’s all try to reflect and find out what are the things that did not work out and replace it with some other nice ideas. As a citizen, we can contribute in helping our economy by saving and being responsible. We’ve been there, and this time, I think with the help of our countrymen, we can surpass this crisis.

The Wonder That Is Vending Machine

Posted by admin | Business, Vending System, Vending | Wednesday 10 September 2008 1:59 pm

The vending system, more specifically the vending machines, has got to be one of the most ingenious discoveries that man has ever created. It can provide lots of things for people in all ages and status, and basically give convenience to everyone.

I was trying to look for information about the said business, and I found out that even though we see those vending machines as seemingly highly technical due to electronics and stuff, it actually originated way back in the first century. A man named Hero of Alexandria was the first one to make use of the said system, which is pretty much similar to what we have right now. His machine accepted coins, and then dispensed, believe it or not, holy water! Although it seemed to be a very promising invention, the success of vending machines didn’t come until around 1880s, when the English people started to make use of the technology. Nowadays, vending machines are practically available anywhere. From malls, bus stops, bathrooms, theaters, parks, theme parks, and even in beaches. They offer wide range of selections like sodas, candies, chips, alcoholic beverages, and toiletries. At this point in time, due to the convenience that it gives, it would be way different if vending machines were to get vanished.
